Buffett on the mend

A fall from the stage has forced Jimmy Buffett to cancel a scheduled performance in New Zealand. On his Margaritaville web site, Jimmy says that he will be back to New Zealand as he was looking forward to fishing and surfing there. Jimmy Buffett’s 10th Margaritaville, at 4th & Broadway in Nashville, is now open. It features “Carribean Cowboy” cusine, four different bars and live music daily on three music stages. The New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness (NOAAHH) will host their
25th Anniversary Event, called “Backstage 2010″ on December 5, 2010, from 7-10pm.

NOAAHH was founded in 1985 when Allen Toussaint and Aaron Neville got a group of New Orleans musicians to perform a benefit concert for New Orleans’ hungry and homeless. The nonprofit organization has distributed more than $1 million to charity since that first concert.

The event, being held this year at Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Drive, New Orleans, will feature musical performances by NOAAHH Co-Founder Allen Toussaint along with Jimmy Buffett. Dr. John, Irma Thomas and many more talented musicians.

Dress is “Black Tie Optional” and for the admission price, you’ll get to mingle with celebrity guest hosts and sample an outstanding selection of New Orleans dishes provided by Kajun Kettle and Southern Hospitality Catering.

Mac McAnally accepts CMA Musician of the Year award 2010

Congratulations to Coral Reefer guitarist Mac MacAnally for winning the Country Music Association’s Musician of the Year award for a third time! A humble McAnally said “The guys nominated with me were better than me, but if this means I get to keep picking with them, then I’m the luckiest guy in the bunch.”
